Overview

ARA-290 (cibinetide) is a synthetic 11-amino-acid peptide derived from the helix-B region of erythropoietin (EPO). It binds the innate-repair receptor (IRR — a heterodimer of EPOR and βcR) without activating the classical EPO receptor, decoupling tissue-protective effects from erythropoiesis. Investigated for diabetic neuropathy, sarcoidosis, and chronic-inflammation models.
