Overview

Cagrilintide is a synthetic amylin analog developed by Novo Nordisk with a fatty-acid modification that extends its half-life enough for once-weekly dosing. Amylin is a peptide co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic β-cells; it slows gastric emptying, promotes satiety, and modulates glucagon. Cagrilintide is in Phase 3 trials as a stand-alone agent and in combination with semaglutide ('CagriSema') with reported weight-loss exceeding either alone.
